Replace weak hood, trunk, hatch, liftgate, or rear-glass supports with application-specific gas struts. A support must match the mounting location, extended and compressed length, force rating, and end fittings. Similar-looking struts are not interchangeable when their geometry or lifting force differs.

Match the support to the panel it controls

Lift supports are calibrated for the weight and hinge geometry of a particular panel. An underpowered support may not hold the panel open, while the wrong length or excessive force can prevent closing or damage mounts. Use the vehicle application and location before comparing dimensions.
